Beware of companies that ship their products through sub-couriers - I'm talking to you ONE/SIZE BEAUTY

The time of shopping online have steadily increased over the years. To the point that it seems like the delivery companies that I knew of growing up such as USPS, UPS, FEDEX, and DHL (I will call them the BIG 4) possibly can't handle the volume. So now this issue has opened up an opportunity to create a new type of delivery service that I call sub-couriers. They are the ones that receive packages for delivery that either the BIG 4 don't have time to deliver so they are passed off to them to complete the route or companies prefer them due to cheaper shipping rates.

Magick.com - The only disappearing act you will see will be in your bank account

Welp it's been a minute since my last post. Summer has come to an end. Fall SHOULD be here but ya know global warming is actually a thing.... Yet I couldn't let the time go past without my present gripe of a situation. So just a quick back story I enjoy collecting tarot and oracle decks. Having been doing so for at least 6 or 7 years. I like to visit various metaphysical stores locally and when I go out of town and try to pick up a deck whenever I can. Now do I know how to use them, absolutely not and actually decided this year to really learn about them.

AT&T + Samsung = Complete idiocy and incompetence

When it comes to technology especially my cellphones I always like to think I make the best choices when it comes to the model and network carrier that I use. About two years ago I left Tmobile back in April of 2022 because in my opinion they didn't value me any longer as a customer when I wanted to upgrade my phone at the time. As usual they were so busy trying to attract new customers instead of making sure the customers they already have would stay loyal. At the time I was going through this issue my mother was in the process of upgrading her cellphone with AT&T to a Samsung Ultra S22 5G. So the sales agent that was helping my mother was informing me of the deal they had at the time for new customers who wanted to buy the same phone model as well. Needless to say I did some research and even went back to Tmobile to see if they would match the upgrade deal. Needless to say Tmobile was pretty much NOPE and I said well, "Fuck you" and I took my business to AT&T.

What goes on in New Orleans, Stays in New Orleans...well except for this review

In September of 2022, Sept 15th thru the 19th, I went on a cousin trip, around 12 of us, to New Orleans. It was a getaway to celebrate Virgo birthdays as well as cheer up one of my cousins who unfortunately had lost her husband earlier in May of last year. She was also the main birthday girl. So we caught an evening flight from Saint Louis, MO down to "The Big Easy". As soon as we landed we made it to our rentals and then proceeded to the Air BnB that was rented for some of the cousins to stay. I along with my sister and a few other cousins opted to stay at a hotel that was right in the smack of New Orleans. Before the main birthday girl arrived to the Air BnB I snapped off a few pictures of the house and birthday cake.

What is on the other side of fear?

So what is on the other side of fear? Safety, security, and just knowing that what was boring yesterday will be still boring the next day. Everyday I wake up and wonder what my life would have been like had I not gotten screwed up in my high school years. I'm currently 43 years old and I keep telling myself that it's not too late to reinvent myself. Yet I honestly wonder if I have the mental capacity to even bother trying. There are various demons I feel that I need to conquer but damn I wonder where to start.

Alice Windom is her name

Thursday morning this Earthly plain released my Aunt Alice so she could be reunited with family and friends that have gone on before.

She was a unique woman who lived an extraordinary life. She was known on a professional level for being a Social Worker. She received her Bachelors and Masters in Social Work.

Even in the darkest of days, it cannot always be night

This weekend was tough. There isn't any way to sugar coat it. Saturday morning I said goodbye to a student. He passed away back on January 18th but his visitation and funeral were held on the 29th. Even though he was a high school student I was still use to seeing Christian every morning coming through my office because he was a VICC student which meant their buses arrived early enough that they had to be admitted through the middle school doors. You see the middle and high school buildings were all on the same campus.

The Pitfalls of dealing with Totaling Out your car.....

So my former car has the option of being totaled out. It had the option back on December 30th by the offender's car insurance. I decided that I wanted an estimate done by my insurance carrier. I have learned a very valuable lesson and should have just gone through with the Total Loss option the day it was offered. I realized that not all car insurance carriers operate the same. The offender's car insurance carrier, Geico, has been efficient and fast in regards to handling my claim. I've been so impressed with them it's honestly making me consider if I should switch to them.

Sometimes a tragedy is actually a blessing in disguise (Car shopping)

So through a few of my previous posts you can gather that I unfortunately had a car accident a few days before Christmas. So my Christmas at least with dealing with that has been a pain and shitty overall. So I had to go back into the abyss that is car shopping. I finally have found something that had pretty much everything except one thing that I was looking for in my first car.

The hustle that is college

New Year, not even gonna say new me. Just working on myself. Part of that is working on getting my Associates degree. Since I can't afford to get my Bachelor's. At least for the moment. So last semester aka Winter 2021 I re-took Microeconomics. When I tell you this class was no joke at the Professor I had wasn't exactly the nicest. I was waiting on an email after the class to do my review on him because I had some things to say...Welp it never came, so he is lucky he didn't get my scathing review.

So What's gonna happen now 2022?

First day of the new year is almost gone. I must say my New Year Eve was pretty good. I went out to Sephora at the Galleria to make an exchange and the young lady who helped me by the name of Breezy (supa fly name!) helped me in more ways than she is aware. She was cheery and helpful that we got to talking about the new year and our own car tribulations this December. She was in a car accident herself back in December 11. I told her of my accident back on the 21st. and she told me that as messed up as it was it just meant that something even better is in store. I can say for the first time since my accident I actually felt my spirits raise up somewhat.

Car Accident - Tale of the 2 Kia's (Optima - 0 vs Forte - 1) Part 2

Welp fast forward to today, unfortunately I found out today that my car is not worth fixing and the insurance company of the asshole who hit me, Skylar Martin, wants to total it out..... The emotions I'm feeling right now are not safe for anyone to be around me at this time. This car was the first major purchase that I made by myself. In the past I would have purchased a used car from my mechanic but this time I was convinced to try for something nicer. I did the research for over a few months. From walking car dealerships to looking online to various website. To even building an Excel sheet to house all my information, I had over 10 to 15 cars that I would look for on a daily basis just to narrow it done to eventually 2 and then decided on the one that I would eventually buy.

Car Accident - Tale of the 2 Kia's (Optima - 0 vs Forte - 1)

I've been debating about writing about this and I woke up at 1am and now it's 6:20am and I'm like, fuck it. It's been bothering me and I need to get it out of my system so I can move forward and just deal with it.

2020 - It's a Wrap

The year 2020 has been the year so far that I wish had a hard reset button. Since the death of Kobe Bryant back in January...it just seams this year has been on a downhill roller coaster. I was in a Launch Code class in the beginning of January, was dropped within a few months because I just couldn't keep up. Went on Spring Break at my job on March 13, it became extended due to CoVid-19 outbreak and didn't get back to work until June 8th.

So I did a thing ... - I GOT LOCS!!!!

So this past Saturday was the culmination of a month's worth of research and over a year's worth of worrying and wondering. I did something that I have always wanted to do. I took the plunge and had a faux loc installation. This is something that I have always wanted to do but didn't want to commit to converting my hair into real locs. I also didn't want to use real human hair. Mine are an alternative fiber. My real hair is natural and short and I want to be able to play with different styles and lengths from time to time.

I may not be Barbara Walters, but this is 2020

It's the middle of January for the most part. I was originally going to write something on January 1st but.....eh..I'll be honest my mind has been in the biggest fog in a way since November. 2019 was challenging overall but losing one of my best friends really took the wind out of may sails for the rest of the year. Not gonna lie, it has been debilitating to a certain extent.

R.I.P. Kaiysha Naima Sharpe-Morrow

This week seems like a blur. I never thought I would be writing R.I.P. to one of my best friends. I would have never guessed that this past weekend would be the last I would ever lay eyes on you.
Some people come into your life and they are leaves...other people comes into your lives and they are branches......then there are those who come into your lives and are roots..... You most definitely were a root.

Habit Forming, Life Changing

Back in December I had a serious coming to Jesus moment with myself. I realized I was in a stage in my life that I wasn't happy and realized that I needed to do something about it. I finally realized that my life wasn't going to change until I started to change things about myself. I talked to a close friend about how I was feeling. I'm not one to who believes in resolutions. I just feel they are just goals that will lead to failure. Just my opinion on it. So I decided I was going to start things differently for myself. I have various issues that I deal with. Finances, Health, and Mentality. They all weave in together and effect each other.

A FOOL AND HER MONEY CAN BE PARTED BUT CAN THAT FOOL BE REFORMED? part 2

So Day 4 is called Money Bucket.

This step was to open a Savings account that ONLY has online access. Not like a savings account with a brick & mortar location. So I did some scouting around. Found an online bank that I had been looking into since last year and decided to make the move to open a Savings account with them. Also am making the move to switch to a different brick & mortar bank as well.

A fool and her money can be parted but can that fool be reformed?

My relationship with money can be described at best as volatile. My money has always been my "happy place" to get away from how I felt about myself. Hit a depressing point in my life, go buy the latest gadget. Upset about something, go buy food to eat. Not liking how I look, go buy makeup to cover that up. Nothing could help conceal the issues I was dealing with. Spending money was only a temporary fix to a permanent issue. Yet it had gotten to the point that I felt "triggered" whenever I would see something I wanted it would be in my head and couldn't get it out until I bought it. Thinking that "thing" would help me overall feel better about myself and help me get out of the funk that I was continuously in.

Looking back on my life I truly wish there had been classes taught through high school about fiscal responsibility or had searched them out during my first stint at college.
