This morning I made my way to Doughnuts Delights off of Dunn Road in Florrisant to meet up with the first of two interviews I was doing for the day in regards to my #ShowYouSTL project. As I was parking I received a message from Tiffany informing me that she was inside and I responded back that I would be in just shortly.

#ShowYouSTL BackStory- WaxZenSilk Scarves
| Scarves from WaxZenSilk |
Yesterday I hung out with a former coworker, Jen who has a small business making scarves. The name of her business is Wax Zen Silk Scarf Creations. The style in which she makes her scarves is called batiking. This process uses wax to make designs with instruments called tjanting tools which come in different sizes and various styles. She makes her wax designs on blank white silk scarves which are then followed by whichever colors she uses to stain the scarves. Trust me it's not as easy as it sounds especially since I was able to see the process first hand last night. In my opinion it is definitely a tedious process but Jen is such a pro that she can do a scarf within two hours.

Ziezo: Farewell and Thank You
Today a treasure of the Delmar Loop and a boutique that has stood the test to time closed its doors for the final today at 3pm. That boutique was Ziezo. This amazing store that was located on the corner next to the Blueberry Hill restaurant, was my go to place for jewelry and accessories. I am 34 years old and I had been shopping there since I was a young teenager.
When I first heard the news that my favorite boutique was closing down, I actually cried.

Review on Imani Ashia's Headwrap workshop on Feb. 23rd
Yesterday I had the opportunity to attend a scarf workshop that I heard about back in December. As a scarf conessuoir I enjoy collecting them but as far as wearing them, I'm afraid my range is limited to just wearing them around my neck. So I found out about this workshop through one of my natural hair groups via facebook, Show Me Naturals. I signed up for the workshop via Meetup and paid my $10 fee online.

Contest Entry: Dita Eyewear Insider Contest

Saw a contest on Facebook for Dita Eyewear. I adore this company! So I decided to write an entry. Tough part I had to write up to 100 words. Obviously my first go around had me around 180. So after a quick edit, I was able to get it down to 100. Below is my original version without limitations.

It's always good to mix things up once in a while..
Yesterday evening I hooked up with my girl Thisha and we went to a Mixxer in the Delmar Loop area. It was for people to meet the latest and upcoming in Saint Louis in regards to Fashion, Makeup, & Hair. This event was hosted by a good friend Patricia Moore who is a makeup artist who owns REFLECTIONS Makup Artistry and I wanted to make sure to come out and support.

What a nice weekend 4/22/2012
This Friday was super busy for me to the point I was not able to eat anything until after work. We threw a party for our students for them doing such a good job with MAP testing. I also had to crank out progress reports to be ready to go in the mail. I didn't leave work until 5:15pm to prep for our Annual Garage Sale that was happening Saturday. After all that fun I left work and had some self pampering done and eventually made my way where I fell into exhaustion and woke up around 10pm. My girl Bridgette was having a birthday gathering at the InSpot Lounge off of Delmar, but that started at 9pm. I got dressed and texted her and she stated that she along with some other friends were already on their way to the OZ club over in Illinois. So I put on a pair new shoes that I bought back in February and had to test them out to gauge my balance. So after walking in them a while I made my way on out to meet them.

Spring Break - Day 9
My Saturday was quite busy and I must say it was wonderful. It started off quite interesting. My mother left her wallet at home and my dad informed her of her minor faux pas. So I took it to her location (Nail Shop) and stayed a little while. Afterwards, I took my car to get a wash again at Waterway and it was glistening! I must say I now can understand why some of my friends enjoy taking their cars to get washed and detailed.

And still I enjoy my Birthday......part. 3
Well yesterday I decided to get up and go to the mall about 2:45pm. Decided to go to West County Mall and chill and see if there were any sales that might pique my interest. So I wondered into one of my favorite stores, Franceseca's Collection and found a beautiful purse that I just had to have for Spring/Summer time. The price on it said 24.00 and I thought what a great deal. Yet when I went up to the counter the sales lady scanned it and rang up 38.00. Instead of throwing a fit and demanding the price on the tag, I asked nicely if they would please honor the price and they sure did. Saved 14 dollars on a beauty of a purse.

Clothes Vs. H.E.W. (heavier endowed women)

http://www.brashop.com/
I walk into a store and wonder why is it hard to find clothes that flatter a women’s upper area aka buxom bosom. Yes there are stores like Lane Bryant, Old Navy, and Torrid. I still think there is a shortage of stores that cater to women that are horizontally challenge. I used to be able to enjoy going to other cute stores like Express and New York (aka) Learners. Find a cute top and be on my way. Now whenever I go shopping I feel like I have to make a strategic map of wherever I’m going to make sure I hit up certain stores so I feel my shopping experience hasn’t been a total lost and in vain.

Is Pain really Worth it for Beauty?
http://www.gothamcityonline.comI’ve been on eBay for the past 2 weeks buying shoes. High heeled shoes. I enjoy my heels to range from flat to as high as 4 inches. I find high heels are very sexy on women and I love to walk to in them. Yet my mom had me training in them back when I was 11 years old, so I’m pro. Don’t test me now. Lol

what a woman's clothes say about her bedroom style, by Miss Love
Of course you shouldn't judge a book by its cover. Yah, yah, and you shouldn't cheat on exams and lie to your mother either. But some things just can't be avoided. In fact, you can tell a lot about a woman by her outward appearance -- after all, her clothes are often a deliberate expression of her sexuality.
