#30WriteNow STL Lose to Win Fall 2012 Challenge: Week 4

*So I decided to deviate from my personal goal today about using the word-prompts to write my #30WriteNowWriting Challenge blog posts and just count this post towards the challenge*

As you can tell by the picture above, I wasn't too pleased with my weigh-in this morning. I went to my designated weigh-in location and I went down 1 pound. So I've decided today I need to start a Food Log to see what is going on. I'm wondering if I might be working out too much as well as still not getting in enough calories and wonder if my body is going into a protective mode. I still enjoy my NutriBullet and make my drinks in the morning yet I'm wondering if I need to add more to my breakfast.

Yes I know it looks disgusting, it's Baby Spinach, blueberries, mango, strawberry protein powder mix, and water. Believe it or not, it actually tastes good;)

This past Sunday I went to Sioux Passing County Park and must say it is a nice area but I do wish there was a dedicated trail for walkers and runners. I had to share the same area with cars, not something that I enjoy.

But there was a nice 1/2 mile trail through the woods that I did enjoy and it had me close by the Missouri River. By the time I was out of the trail I was near an area called Pelican Island and I must say the view was quite beautiful

On my return walk back some guy pulled up to me in a White Pontiac Grand Am and was trying to make conversation. He was smoking a Cigarillo and said that he likes to walk as well as workout. I'm thinking to myself really...but you are smoking and your protruding stomach is touching the steering wheel. So I made up a bullsh*t number and gave it to him so he would go on his way and leave me to my walk. After he takes off I look down on the ground and there is a pack of Black and Mild's with two cigarillos in the box right in front of my feet. I start giggling, which then erupts into laughter, I look up at the sky and say, "Really God?" I shook my head, said to myself "Let me keep it moving" and continued my walk and finished up.

Also this week I've been reading up on weights and strength training but I think I will have to look into a personal trainer because the last thing I want to do is hurt myself by pulling any muscles the wrong way. I remember some of my old exercises from a few years back that I used to do on different machines with a previous trainer but I need to make sure that I'm able to do them correctly and not waste my time.

Now THIS particular version of PETA I can get down with

As far as my eating goes I'm seriously looking into a method called the Paleo Method. I do love my veggies but I also love my meats as well. My friend Trenton had informed about this method a few years ago, and I've been looking into and I think it would help me in regards to my eating habits. It wouldn't be drastic for me and I know I would have to make some adjustments. Yet I know there is no way I could ever go vegan. I'm sorry for all those PETA lovers, but if a chicken tried to cross the road I would have to do my best to catch that sucker, and as for red meat and seafood, they are fair game as well. I do enjoy a nice juicy steak and don't get me started on Lobster, Crab Legs, and Shrimp...Good Lord.

I will say I have learned from this is that my endurance when working out is lasting longer, not as much as I would like, but I am a work in progress. I've noticed I can do more modified push-ups now than I could do a few months back. Lemon squeezers are also another biggie that I enjoy.

P.S. - I thought you might enjoy this. This morning while at work I happen to be in our kitchen which is behind the main office area where I work. I saw this on our table and had to take a double take.

Now call me crazy but I don't recall baby spinach, especially organic looking like powder puff donuts.

Until the next episode....
