#30WriteNow 3rd Annual Sista Strut for Breast Cancer Research/Cure 2012

Main Stage

This morning I woke up early to get myself ready for the 3rd Annual Sista Strut for Breast Cancer Research/Cure 2012. This is my 2nd year attending this event. I arrived at the History Museum aka the Jefferson Memorial around 7:20am. Of course there were plenty of people there before myself but that just added to the ambiance of the event.

It was quite cold this morning but I made sure to stay warm with a St. Louis Rams fleece pullover, a Champion zipup, and a Nike runner top. I was toasty on the top but I had on jogging pants and while I was just a tad bit chilly I made sure to have on my skully and gloves.

The event which was MC'd by Tammie Holland and Tony Scott started around 8am'ish. As usual they were wonderful and of course we also had Selena J and Dwight Stone on and had other DJ's from Majic 104.9 fm and Hallelujah 1600 am.

I was able to grab an even better view than I did last time and took plenty of pictures and a few videos to mark the occasion. I had some laughs and shed a few tears. But overall I had a wonderful time. Of course the music and dancing was a huge plus.

I also saw a few friends there, not that many, but some. I couldn't wait for the walk and made sure to track my walk via my Endomondo app and also took more pictures.

Afterwards I went to Taylana's and enjoyed  a wonderful lunch;)

Good eating!

If you came out I hope you had a great time and if you didn't, you missed a wonderful event. This is my 2nd year at the Sista Strut and I strut for my mom and volunteer my time at the Susan Komen Walk for the Cure (This was my 6th year involved). My mom is a 7 year survivor.

Me;)

Until the next episode....
