@Influenster Sugar 'n Spice #VoxBox 2013

Well my second Influenster box came through called Sugar 'n Spice. I had such a good time reviewing the first one, I thought I would give it another try.

The following items were in my box:

The first items I decided to try out were the Colgate products:

1. Colgate Optic White Regimen:
@OpticWhite / #BrilliantSmile

Toothbrush, Toothpaste, and Mouthwash

This particular challenge states if used for at least 5 days that I will see a difference in the brightness of my teeth. So what I will do in regards to this review is give an initial review and then give another in 5 days.

 Initial Review: First time using on Monday 4/15.

So this morning I decided to start the Colgate challenge. I looked over the packaging of each individual product.

The Toothbrush
This particular toothbrush was a 47/soft

interesting bristles

nice rubber grip area

The Toothpaste

The Mouthwash
Sparkling Fresh Mint

Its clear, no fancy colors

So after inspecting everything I start to use the toothbrush and toothpaste. Within a few seconds of using the toothbrush I noticed that the inner bristles of the toothbrush were quite soft while the outer ones were not as soft and were aggravating my gums. They became so irritated in two spots I was seeing blood. I became a bit concerned but still continued to brush my teeth until I was done. When I was read to spit, this is the result:

 Now what I don't understand is that I normally use toothbrushes that are medium to hard and I don't experience irritation to my gums the way I did with this toothbrush. Nor do I experience irritation to the point that my gums would bleed like this. So I took two lessons away from this, either 1) My regular toothbrush is not doing the job properly or 2) THIS particular toothbrush is just simply too harsh

So after spitting out the toothpaste I use the  mouthwash and I have to say I am NOT a fan of the taste of this stuff. The packaging says mint but I swear I did NOT sense any mint in the taste. It was a trial to keep it in my mouth and swish/gargle. After a while I did spit out and the after taste was just ugh.... I checked out my teeth and they look nice.

So I will keep this up for a total of 5 days and will let you know if I see any difference in my teeth.

5 day followup: April 19th

Okay so this morning was my last day on my 5 day challenge.

So in all honesty I don't know if I can say that my teeth were brighter....but I did like how they looked. Still not a fan of the mouthwash. I have gotten used to the bristles on the toothbrush and the toothpaste. So overall, I did enjoy trying out the challenge, but to me the bigger challenge was dealing with that awful mouthwash.

2. belVita Breakfast biscuits
@belVita / #BreakfastBiscuit +Belvita Fontaneda

 This interesting breakfast treat is called belVita.  I must say I really enjoyed these. Upon opening the package a nice wift of the cinnamon came out and my stomach rumbled.

Pretty nice size biscuit

So I ate the package and I will say the size of each biscuit and taste were perfect. It still tastes like a biscuit cracker in a way but not as sweet as a cookie. Great as a lil snack.

 3. Vaseline Spray and Go Moisturizer
@VaselineBrand / #SprayandGo +Vaseline

Total Moisture - Pure Oat Extract

So after my shower this morning at 6AM, I proceeded to try out the Spray and Go product from Vaseline. With this particular product you spray on your body and you rub it in. From my research there are three types of this product. The other two are Aloe Fresh and Cocoa Radiant. So I decided to try it on my legs and arms.

What I noticed first is that you have to twist the top to be able to press down. Which is good so you don't accidentally dispense. So upon using it dispenses a white spray and I rubbed into my skin. It didn't feel greasy and absorbed into my skin quite nicely. Another thing I also liked was that it didn't have a strong scent, it did have a nice scent of oat and that was just fine for me.

A few minutes ago at 9AM, I just scratched my arm with my nails to see if any dryness would show up. No marks. But on my legs there were traces from my finger nails. So I'm thinking that more might need to be used on my legs in the future. Overall enjoyed this product.

4. Dickinson's Original Witch Hazel Oil controlling towelettes
#DickinsonsWitchHazel

The Box - holds 20 per carton

So after getting dressed I decided to try out one of the Dickinson's Witch Hazel towelettes. Upon opening the package the towelette after opening up was quite a nice big size. I wiped my face and neck area and it has a wee-bit of a strong smell to it. It didn't leave my skin feeling dry and it did a good job in regards to cleaning. So I would say this product is a keeper.

There were  also 5 coupons in the box for this product as well.

5. NECTRESSE Sweetner
#NECTRESSE

Last but not least in my voxbox was a box of  Nectresse, a  sweetner which happens to be made by Splenda. Splenda is currently my go-to sweetner of choice. Nectresse is being advertised as being 100% natural. Of course to me when I think natural I think pulled right from the earth without altering the state of the veggie/fruit. So after reading  the ingredients I don't consider this 100% natural.  Normally I use my Splenda for making "sugar water" and using on my strawberries, so I thought that would be the only fair way to test out the Nectresse.

"sugar water" and strawberries

So I cut up a few strawberries and sprinkled some of the Nectresse on them and the rest in some water. After eating the strawberries I noticed that the Nectresse did not have such a strong sweet taste unlike when I use Splenda. It was subtle yet  it still did the job. Now when I tried out my sugar water. I missed that strong taste from the Splenda. I could taste the Necresse but barely.  So I will still try some more of the packets out on other things to see if like it enough to keep using.

Another item that came along with the box of Necresse was a small booklet that held some interesting recipes that you can use Nectresse with.

Overall had a good time AGAIN
 reviewing another Influenster voxbox.

 Please let it be known I was not paid by Influenster to give my opinion. I was just born this way;)

Until the next episode....
